Deb Hallisey is a past and present caregiver. Currently caregiver to her mother, she saw her father through Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) until his death in 2015.
Deb lost her job due to caregiving issues and as a result founded her company Advocate for Mom and Dad. She writes on caregiving issues for adult children of aging parents at her website www.AdvocateforMomandDad.com.
Deb is the author of Your Caregiver Relationship Contract, . A book which is a practical, step-by-step guide for discussing relationship issues that arise between caregivers, their care partners, and uses she personal stories to illustrate how these techniques healed her relationship with her mother. Debra is a regional speaker for ARTIS Senior Living and does guest speaking for a variety of organizations including Parkinson’s of Oklahoma, The Care Years Academy and United Way to name a few.
An advocate for caregivers, Debra is a Certified Caregiving Consultant™ and Certified Dementia Practitioner®. She holds an MA in Leadership and Supervision and is currently taking additional training to become certified as a CCE – Certified Caregiving Educator, CCF – Certified Caregiving Facilitator and CCA – Certified Caregiving Facilitator.
